Consultancy can be given to assist your organization in developing or extending your Management System to be compliant the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 80079-34, SI 2016 No. 1107, Portaria INMETRO 115 and the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU

Although Certification to ISO 9001 is not a prerequisite to gain a QAR/QAN, however it is advised. David Ford QA Ltd can also consult on compliance in preparation for IECEx factory inspection which is required prior to the release of the Ex-design certification.

Both ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 80079-34 Standards are currently being revised. ISO 9001:2026 is expected to be officially published in September 2026. The changes are intended to bring the following:

• Clear separation of risks and opportunities for a more balanced approach

• Stronger emphasis on quality culture, values and ethical behaviour

• Improved usability and closer alignment with other ISO management system standard

Voting on the Draft International Standard ISO/IEC DIS 80079-34 ended on 19th September 2025. At the time of writing the is no publishing date. The changes will include added definitions, the removal of some terms that had significant overlap to others, the clarification of some existing clauses and the overhaul of external provider selection and control..

Looking forward, David Ford QA Limited will be providing consultancy in the transition period on changes to Quality Management Systems requirements for the new revisions of the standards; ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 80079-34.
